Pick a Hong Kong boat

Live list from the ORC Hong Kong active certificates feed. Click your boat — the lab loads the official certificate from the server cache (no HTML drop needed).

Speed polar

Solid line = certificate polar. Dashed line = practice polar only (SCENARIO). Not for racing.

Lab notes

Unofficial handicap estimate (seconds per mile, all-purpose). Built from published ORC rules and lab slopes — not a re-run of SaS VPP. The header chip shows the net change. This list shows each piece versus your imported certificate.

    How it affects rating
    Why it matters

    Estimate bar and controls

Learning tool only — not the licensed ORC VPP on Sailor Services.

    ▲/▼ stepper or typing
Each click or typed change updates the Estimate at the top. That uses the same math as any edit on the form.
    Grey estimate bar (fill length)
Shows how sensitive this field is on this page. The lab adds a small fixed test change (for example +0.02 m or +5 kg), recalculates the Estimate, and compares to before. A longer bar means a bigger move. It is not one stepper click. It is not the official ORC ranking.
Coloured dot (high / medium / low)
Typical importance in the full ORC calculator — from field help. This is separate from the grey bar. Tap the blue label for the full rule text.
RS checkboxes & dropdowns (ORC 103.3)
These are powered controls (electric winches, vang, and so on). Each tick or choice changes the Estimate at the top, using ORC 103.3. There is no grey bar here because bars only sit on measurement fields. There is no eye icon because these are not sails on the drawing.
    Empty bar
The test change did not move the Estimate by at least 0.01 s/NM. Common reasons: empty value, no lab slope for this field, square-top mainsail locked to the certificate rated area, or hull flags that need a full SaS remeasure instead of a bar.
    Cert APH in the chip
From your issued certificate or import. The bar math does not change this number.
    Estimate APH
SCENARIO — unofficial. Built from published ORC percent rules plus lab slopes only. Not a licensed SaS VPP re-run. Open Notes for a line-by-line breakdown.
